A planetary creep drive is an auxiliary drive that turns a belt conveyor at a very slow “creep” speed for belt inspection, splicing, cleaning and maintenance. The main drive stays off. Kavitsu Transmissions manufactures planetary creep drives in Satara, Maharashtra, specially designed for belt conveyors.
The creep drive attaches to the main drive line and engages only when needed. It is compact, needs only a small motor, and works together with the conveyor's thrustor brake.
Creep drives are made at our Satara works and matched to the conveyor's main drive and brake drum size.
Planetary Creep Drive Supplier
We supply creep drives to conveyor OEMs and to plants retrofitting existing conveyors across India.
Planetary Creep Drive Exporter
Planetary creep drives are exported along with conveyor drive packages for overseas bulk-handling projects.
Benefits of a Creep Drive
Safe, slow belt movement for inspection and splicing without running the main motor
Lower energy use and less wear on the main drive during maintenance
Compact planetary design that integrates with the existing brake drum
Precise positioning of the belt joint at the splicing station
Applications
Long belt conveyors in steel plants, mines, cement plants, power station coal handling and ports, and wherever regular belt inspection or maintenance is needed.
Information Needed to Quote a Planetary Creep Drive
To recommend the right model quickly, please share:
Main conveyor drive details (motor kW, gearbox)
Thrustor brake drum diameter (100-500 mm)
Required creep speed of the belt
Space available near the main drive
Supply voltage for the creep motor
Every Kavitsu unit is assembled and tested in-house at Satara before dispatch. Test certificates and GA drawings are supplied with project and export orders.
