A bevel planetary speed reducer combines a spiral bevel input stage with a planetary gearbox output. The result is a right-angle drive that keeps the high torque density of planetary gearing. The bevel stage turns the drive through 90°, so the motor can sit parallel to the conveyor or alongside a vessel. This saves floor space and simplifies the layout. The planetary stages behind it carry the heavy output torque.
